Every Rio comes with our easy to use software Rio Music Manager, designed to help you find and organize music on your computer, and then copy that music on to your Rio player.
Find and organize your music on your computer:
Rio Music Manager can automatically search for the music already on you computer, or search only in directories you tell it to. It can even monitor directories to automatically detect when you get new music.
Once the music is discovered, Rio Music Manager will sort it by Artist, Album, and Genre. If the your music isn't "tagged" with the correct information, RMM will even let you add that information to the digital music files.
Rip your CDs:
Rio Music Manager will help you convert your existing CD collection into digital music files. Simply place your CDs into your computer while RMM is running and it will help you convert the music into files that you can store on your computer or transfer to your Rio player.
Copy Music to your Rio Player:
Rio Music Manager will automatically detect when your Rio Player is attached to your computer with the supplied USB cable, and place an icon for the player in the RMM interface. To copy music to the player, simply drag music files from your Windows Explorer window or from RMM right on to the icon. RMM will begin copying the files to your player.
Click on the Rio Player's icon in RMM to see all the files currently on the player, as well as how much space remains. You can also select files in this few and choose delete to remove files from the player.
Automatically Synchronize Music on your Rio Player
One of the most exciting features of Rio Music Manager is automatic music synchronization. Using automatic synchronization you can have RMM move all new music to your player automatically, or if your player is already full, you can set a profile to automatically remove a percentage of the music on your player, and replace it with new or different music, so the music on your player never gets stale.
It's the easiest way to get started:
There are several applications available to organize digital music on your computer, and many of them will allow you to work with your Rio player. An example is the Window Media Player, built into most modern versions of Windows. Rio players also work with iTunes on Macintosh computers. However, the easiest program to use with a Rio player is Rio Music Manager.
